Starting June 1, 2009, all U.S. citizens must have a valid U.S. Passport to travel aboard - including to the Caribbean, Canada, Mexico and Bermuda. This new rules apply whether you're driving, flying or taking a cruise. A driver's license and birth certificate is no longer acceptable when traveling abroad.

You can also visit The U.S. Department of State's website by clicking here. If you need to obtain a new passport or renew an old passport, be sure to allow between four and six weeks for processing. Otherwise, you'll have to pay hefty rush charges to obtain a passport in a timely manner.
